Prestigiously dubbed by many as “The World’s Best Hotel,” next month the ever-recognizable Burj Al Arab begins an entire year of celebrating its 15th birthday with specials and packages designed to attract visitors worldwide. On the eve of Dec. 1, Dubai’s famous landmark kicks off the party with fireworks and a 3-D projection lightshow. Then, throughout the rest of 2015, guests will be treated to the luxury hotel’s five-star service with a “Best of the Burj” package.
The five-star Arab destination was designed and constructed over a five-year period beginning in 1994 and opened its doors on Dec. 1, 1999, thanks to the labor of 3,000 contractors and over 3,500 laborers. Commissioned by Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the innovative, sail-shaped building created a unique and memorable skyline for Dubai. Standing on an artificial island just off the Jumeirah coast, Burj Al Arab ascends to a height of 1,053 feet. By comparison, the Eiffel Tower stands at 1,063 feet while the Empire State Building, including antennae, boasts a stately 1,454 feet. Over the years, this milestone has left a lasting impression to all who witness it.
Highlights of the exclusive 2015 package will undoubtedly leave guests with an indelible impression long after they depart. A Rolls Royce Phantom will greet them at the airport to transport them to the Burj Al Arab, where they will enjoy a well-appointed suite, sumptuous six-course dinner, and deluxe spa treatment. In remembrance of their stay, they will also have the opportunity to purchase signature limited edition gifts designed by partner Hermès.
