Nothing says “romance” like Chanel. Next week, in honor of the 2014/5 Métiers d’Art show in Salzburg, Chanel will present a vision of romance in the form of a short film starring Pharrell Williams and Cara Delevingne. Titled “Reincarnation,” the film features Williams and Delevingne as royals dressed in exquisite vintage gown and uniform. Created and directed by Karl Lagerfield, the production was a collaboration between Lagerfield and Williams, who are close friends. Williams even wrote the original soundtrack, entitled “CC The World,” while Delevingne performed the lyrics.
The film’s storyline features a tale of royal romance, beginning with Delevingne as a princess, who spies Williams, a lowly elevator operator, wearing the centerpiece of our tale: a chic Chanel jacket. The jacket catches the attention of the princess, and a transformation of her beau ensues. We don’t know exactly how our pauper becomes a prince, but apparently a captive audience anxiously awaits the reveal. Delevingne, who has modeled for Chanel previously, expressed excitement over the production online, hinting to fans via social media that this event is not one to be missed.
A preview of this magical performance can be seen on the official Chanel website. The video in its entirety can be seen on the eve of the event, Monday, Dec. 1, 2014.
